this pattern emerged from thinking about how the government uses political spin to take us through a situation - like they are leading us through a maze all the time trying to avoid the complete truth in an effort to come out smelling like roses. this is a literal translation of how i think the government operates, in a convoluted, bureaucratic way, the work itself is a single continuos line representing the journey undertaken. the overall form is reminiscent of primitive life - the bacterial spores which colonise new areas - just like the public opinion towards political figures changes, first with a respected commentator, or individual, cultivating a particular opinion which then spreads to others and ultimately becomes an accepted viewpoint.
the work is planned to be sporadic, appearing in random locations just as the people opposed to current affairs do. the transient nature of the work lends an ephemeral sense of unity to the idea as a whole.
